Teacher Turned Tutor offers full service tutoring and academic coaching. I provide study skills, ISEE preparation, homework help and more. I believe that many of today's students are working hard to achieve their goals but are doing so inefficiently. My objective is to help students achieve both academic success and independence as learners.
ABOUT ME
Kristen Williams Munoz
Founder of Teacher Turned Tutor
I am both an ever evolving educator and a student. Helping children succeed academically is my passion. I have spent over a decade committed to working with middle school and high school students. I have been an experiential science educator in a museum setting, a science teacher at an accomplished private school and finally a private tutor. I started privately tutoring as an undergraduate student at the University of Oklahoma and continued to do so over the last 15 years. Now I spend my time helping students to hone their executive functioning skills so that they can be more successful students. Helping children to see themselves as intelligent and capable learners is truly my greatest joy and I am so lucky to spend my time doing something I love.

TUTORING
I am committed to helping students navigate the academic world to be their most successful selves. Whether they need help with confidence, concepts or execution; we can help.
EXECUTIVE FUNCTIONING WORKSHOPS
Executive functioning skills are critical to student success and achievement. I offer workshops for schools looking to help students hone these skills to better prepare them for the academic rigors of school.
ISEE TEST PREPARATION
Private school students in the Dallas area typically take the ISEE exam as part of the high school application process. I offer test prep services to help students prepare for this exam. My philosophy is to focus on fundamental skills that will be tested as well as test taking strategies.
INTERVIEW COACHING
As part of the private high school application process students are required to complete an interview with their prospective schools. Preparing for this interview can help alleviate anxiety about this part of the application process.
ORGANIZATION
I know that my students are bright and capable but, many of them are terribly disorganized when we first meet. Helping students develop an organization system that works for them is critical to academic success.
WRITING SUPPORT
I offer editing and writing support services to students who are eager to develop their writing skills.
